Further support information

It is important that you use the supports around you for help when you are feeling low in mood, such as a family member or friend. You should also talk to your GP who has been trained to help people having such difficulties.

The University’s counselling centre can provide you with further support. Their website is www.ucc.ie/studentcounselling

There are many other websites available that could offer you further support such as:

In addition you could phone the Samaritans at 1850609090 for immediate support or Aware at 1890303302 or Grow at 1890474474 for information on mental health support groups in your area.

If you are interested in attending a counsellor privately, a list of registered counsellors can be found at www.irish-counselling.ie or www.ncii.ie
